NEPA and State-Level Environmental Compliance (EA/EIS)
Assisting clients with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and state-level environmental policy act (SEPA) compliance projects is a core ENTRIX capability. Over the last 25 years, we have prepared over 500 NEPA or SEPA documents for virtually every type of project for applicants and for municipal, state and federal agencies across the U.S. Our staff is experienced with both the broad requirements and agency-specific procedures needed to successfully prepare NEPA/SEPA application and agency-specific documents, like environmental assessments (EA) environmental impact statements (EIS) and environmental impact reports (EIR). In addition, ENTRIX has completed similar environmental impact assessment work internationally, specifically in Latin and South America.
Successful NEPA/SEPA projects require an in-depth understanding of the lead agency’s standard procedures, permitting agency requirements, public and stakeholder concerns, and deep expertise in resource issues, impact analysis, and impact avoidance, minimization, and mitigation measures—all of which ENTRIX brings to the table. As one example, ENTRIX has a proven record of successfully completing EISs for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) using its pre-filing process, which allows for early identification and resolution of environmental, public, and agency issues. This method streamlines and speeds the NEPA process, serving the lead agency well while protecting the project proponent from unnecessary delays and additional costs. In other cases, ENTRIX has assisted Federal agencies in developing third-party EIS protocols and procedures to respond to expanded NEPA responsibilities as their jurisdictions have evolved legislatively.
