Water Resource Economics

ENTRIX economists have extensive experience in finding solutions to complex water resource management problems and providing clients with objective and expert analyses. Our economists have completed hundreds of water resource studies covering a broad range of work—analyzing water demands, optimal uses and water pricing, benefit-cost studies of water resource and flood control projects, water agency costs and customer rate structures, the appraisal of water sold or leased for agricultural and non-agricultural purposes.

ENTRIX has a national water resource economics practice and is experienced in addressing the diversity of water challenges across the U.S.  For example, we have analyzed reallocation of water supplies among users in California; the optimal allocation of water resources to protect endangered species in Nevada; water supply plans in Georgia; reservoir management plans across multiple states for the Tennessee Valley Authority, the costs and benefits of numeric nutrient criteria in Florida, and the costs and benefits of cooling water intake structures for clients across the country.

ENTRIX provides these services to a wide range of clients, including attorneys, water districts, municipalities, water purveyors, industrial and commercial water users, and land owners. Additionally, our economics team has worked extensively with American Indian Tribes, Reservations and Pueblos to evaluate, develop and quantify their water rights.
